Many of you are building desktop apps without considering the efficiency of your design. Tasks requiring significant effort are less enjoyable because they tax the user's cognitive resources. As a result, they have to exert more time and energy to complete them. Their cognitive resources are limited, so the user's instinct is to conserve as much as possible so they can do other tasks. However, all this goes out the window if your app requires excessive clicking, scrolling, or page navigation. Your users are likely suffering from a symptom of inefficiency called "back button fatigue." They experience this when they must constantly click the back button to navigate from page to page.
