Three Strikes : Crowdstrike, Houthi Strike, Israeli CounterstrikeThis video was demonetized by YouTube so here it is for SubstackThree things happened while I was going to Australia - The Crowdstrike Event a Houthi drone strike on TelAviv and an Israeli counter-strike on Hodeidah Port. The Crowdstrike failure came from a flawed update in Crowdstrike software. The update was fixed with a patch, but the patch had to be applied manually. The interesting part came from the amount of disinformation that was surrounded the flawed update. If you are interested in a good breakdown of the Crowdstrike incident, see below. The Houthi drone attack against Tel Aviv shows that non-state actors are now able to launch long-range drone attacks with a level of sophistication not seen before. However, these attacks are limited in scope. The Israeli counter-attack against POL storage in Yemen’s Hodeidah Port shows tow things: #1 the need for Tankers in any air force that wants a credible strike capability. #2. Drones might be able to harass, but nation states still own the skies and can inflict a lot of damage if they need to. #3. The F-35/F-15 mix can be a very potent combination.
